How to make the dough for the sesame balls?
To get the perfect dough for the sesame balls it is very important to use glutinous rice flour. This recipe won’t work if you use regular rice flour. You can find glutinous rice flour in Asian grocery stores.
Start by boiling the water in a pan and add 30g white sugar. Let the sugar dissolve and set the pan aside.
Next, put the glutinous rice flour in a bowl and add the hot water with the dissolved sugar. Mix the water with the flour and knead until you can form a ball. You can add a little extra glutinous rice flour if the dough is still sticking to your hands after kneading. Or add more water if the dough is too dry.
After kneading add 1 tsp of vegetable oil and knead again. Make a nice ball and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
